Original 70’s block collection – orange brown
Squigee, the innovative surface design company, have been invited to add a distinctive design edge to an original London Transport moquette textile design. Moquette is a uniquely serviceable natural wool based material used by transport providers because of its durability and texture. Squigee was established in 1997 by Natasha Marshall and Neil Fullerton. They met at Glasgow School of Art while Natasha was studying Textiles and Neil Graphic Design and it is this combination that gives them their unique design style.
Squigee have chosen this iconic orange and brown block design for its retro appeal and strong design identity. The orange brown block moquette dominated the transport system on both buses and tubes through the 1970’s and 1980’s and is sure to be a design still fresh in every commuter’s memory.
Squigee have produced this design in its original colourway and in blue, brown and red colourways for the 21st century contemporary market.
